Terms of Service

IndieStore is a directory where independent makers list software they built and where visitors discover, upvote, review and discuss those apps. Listing is free. Rankings are produced by published, automated rules based on real usage and community activity. Payment never buys an organic position.

• You sign in with your Google account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• To list an app or run ads you must link and verify your personal X (Twitter) handle, by placing a one-time code in your X bio. The X account must be at least 30 days old. You may only link a handle you own.
• Once linked, your public X profile details (name, username, profile photo, bio, follower count) are shown next to your listings, comments and reviews, so people know who is behind them. Your email is never shown.
• One person, one account. Creating or using multiple accounts to vote, review or gain any advantage is prohibited.
• You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.

• Listings are for independent makers: individuals or small, self-funded teams who built the product. Each listing shows its maker's verified personal X handle. Handles marked as businesses or organisations on X cannot list apps.
• You may only list software you built or are authorised to list. You confirm this when submitting.
• Listing information (name, tagline, description, logo, links, category, pricing) must be accurate and kept up to date. Details we fetch automatically from your website are your responsibility to review.
• Each website can be listed only once. We may limit the number of listings per account.
• You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and promote your listing content on IndieStore and in our marketing about IndieStore.
• Each listing page links to your website. We aim to keep these links followable, but we do not guarantee any SEO outcome and may change link attributes at any time.

• You may connect a read-only key from a supported analytics provider (currently DataFast, Plausible, Simple Analytics or Pirsch), or a public Simple Analytics dashboard, to show verified visitor numbers. We check it has access to your listed domain.
• We use the key only to read visitor counts. It is encrypted at rest, never shown to anyone, and you can remove it at any time by contacting us or deleting your listing.
• If a key stops working, verified numbers stop counting toward rankings after 48 hours.

Rankings are calculated automatically by the rules published on our How ranking works page. Each new listing is featured in our new-launch areas for its first 7 days after listing; beyond that, we do not guarantee any position or visibility. You must not, and must not ask or pay anyone to:

• generate fake, automated or incentivised views, clicks, upvotes, comments or reviews;
• use bots, scripts, click farms, multiple accounts or vote-exchange groups;
• embed IndieStore in frames or otherwise disguise traffic;
• interfere with, probe or reverse-engineer our anti-abuse systems.

We may discount suspicious activity, adjust or remove rankings, remove listings, and suspend accounts involved in manipulation.

• Reviews must reflect your genuine experience. Makers cannot rate their own apps. One star review per person per app.
• If you have a material connection to an app (you work on it, were paid, or received something free), you must say so in your comment.
• No spam, harassment, hate, threats, illegal content, personal data of others, defamation, or misleading statements.
• You keep ownership of what you post and grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute it on IndieStore.
• We may remove content or restrict accounts that break these rules. You can delete your own comments at any time.

IndieStore's name, logo, design and code belong to us. App names and logos belong to their owners. If you believe content on IndieStore infringes your rights, email legal@indiestore.lol with the details, and we will review and act promptly.

Apps listed on IndieStore are built and operated by their makers, not by us. We do not endorse, verify or guarantee any listed app, its claims, security or pricing. Your use of any listed app or linked website is at your own risk and subject to that maker's terms.

You can stop using IndieStore at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or terminate access, or remove content, if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect users or the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

IndieStore is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to IndieStore is limited to the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your listings, content, use of IndieStore, or breach of these Terms.

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new date, and for material changes we will give reasonable notice on the site. Continuing to use IndieStore after changes take effect means you accept them.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any non-waivable consumer rights in your country, the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, India have exclusive jurisdiction.
